honestbaby says it’s time to tell it like it is! Let your child wear an honestbaby “back off, i’m teething” tee and let everyone know why they’re not feeling their best.
honestbaby.com is a non-judgmental community where parents can share their triumphs and misadventures and admit that they’re just giving it their best shot.
honestbaby sent me over the little tee that says “back off, i’m teething”. I love it! It’s the cutest little thing!
They are also generously offering up 1 lucky reader 2 honestbaby tees of their choice, an over $50 value!
In order to enter, leave a comment below and feel free to share your most imperfect parenting moment.
Here’s an example from honestbaby member Kristin:
“My 10-month old was teething badly. There might have been two teeth coming in at the same time – all I knew was he was very irritable and drooling everywhere. An older lady at the supermarket approached our grocery cart to comment on how cute he was. She was making funny faces to try and get him to laugh. Little did she know he was in no mood for entertaining. She got a little too close and he pushed her face away with his drool soaked hands. I reprimanded him but as soon as we walked away I let out a laugh.”
honestbaby will even put some of their favorites up on their site!
And for an added entry, follow me on Twitter and Tweet about the give away, then come back and leave another comment letting me know you did. (please note if you leave a link I will have to approve it before it will show up)

Imperfect parenting moments? I’ve had many. Too bad they don’t come with instructions.
July 21st, 2009 at 4:08 am
ran out of diapers out on a trip and all stores were closed and used the blowdryer and the duct tape to satisfy the diaper needs
July 21st, 2009 at 7:11 am
great for a new grandbaby due in september.

My grocery carts never have working safety straps on them. So I once had to use a bungee cord that I keep in my trunk to secure my baby to the seat. Mother of the year!

Since I am working on great-grandchildren, probably had plenty of
imperfect parenting moments, but honestly can’t really remember them
now. They must have been fairly innocuous. Anyway, would love to have
these shirts for my grandson–he will be teething soon, so that one
would certainly be appropriate.

I know we all make mistakes i probably have too many to remember
July 21st, 2009 at 10:23 am
great for grandson, ran out of wipes at the campground so used campground hose and hosed his little tusch
July 21st, 2009 at 12:07 pm
Probably the worst moment was in the middle of changing a diaper and not only did my godson deside to pee AGAIN but he also pooped out the most awful green smooshie stuff I had ever seen all over the carpet!!
July 21st, 2009 at 3:02 pm
These shirts are cute! I am so not a perfect parent but my love for them is perfect.

My daughter was around one and someone came to the door. I answered it and of course my daughter was right next to me. Well, this man was african american. As soon as she saw him she burst out crying and screaming. I was so embarassed.

My daughter was a little over one when I took her to the pool. She wanted
to get out of the big pool so I put out and she started to run off so
I grabbed her leg since I was still in the pool. You can guess what
happened when you grab a running toddler by the foot. Splat - oops!

When my oldest was 18 months old she was riding on my back as I crawled slowly on the floor. Well, she fell the whole 12 inches to the floor and broke her arm!! The questions in the ER were fun, the cast even better and to this day mommy does not let ANYONE ride on her at all!!

I live in a part of Canada that NEVER gets snow! (I know, odd but true) lol When my eldest daughter was about 10 months old, it snowed here, quite a bit! I got super excited as I LOVE the snow. I put her in a snowsuite and bundled her up and thought it would be “funny” if I stuck her in a snow bank. (safely of course) and I’d take a few pictures!
Well, I took some photos and when I got my precious daughter back inside after being stuck in a snowbank for about 10 minutes I realized that I hadn’t put any boots on her feet and I’d stuck her inthe snow with just socks on…………….
I was horrified at the time, but now we all look at the photos and have a great chuckle over that moment!
Thanks

I’m having my first (she’s still kicking around in there) but have
already had my first imperfect parenting moment. I found out the
hard way that my baby girl doesn’t like loud music. I walked through
my husband’s band practice and found that she turns into a little
jumping bean…actually, maybe that means she’s into rock!
I either have a little member of KISS in there or a girl who prefers
our usual classical music.
Either way, I’m sure she’d love the saucy shirts!
thanks!

I had come out of the bathroom and my child was no where to be found, he opened the patio door and let himself out, thank god we have a fence and no ground pool. Needless to say, the patio door got aan extra lock up top of the door where the little monster can’t reach!
Thanks for the GREAT giveaway!

My most imperfect parenting moment was right after we first brought
my daughter home from the hospital. She was our first child, and I really
didn’t know much about babies. I stated noticing that every time I put her
down for a nap, her back would be soaking wet when she woke up. I remember thinking
“man, she is one sweaty baby.” I thought she was just getting really
sweaty in her sleep. That is, until someone informed me that I was
cramming her into diapers that were too small. Instead of “sweating”
while she slept, her diapers were leaking while she slept. I felt
like such a clueless mommy!

One time my son was walking in the basement and tripped over one of my shoes. He made the funniest face and all I could do was laugh. I tried not to but it was too late. He was was not physically hurt but was angry with my reaction and less than kindly told me not to laugh at him. I felt horrible!

Probably the worst moment was in the middle of changing my son’s
diaper and he peed on my hubby.

There have been many in my son’s short year of life… Last night I had to leave him with my husband and go out to the grocery store ALONE because he had been SO whiny all day! I love these shirts, especially the one that says “I am my mom’s job!”
July 22nd, 2009 at 8:42 am
I just adore these tee shirts.

A few years ago, I gave my older daughter food poison by accident. She went on a field trip. I sent her a bologna and cheese sandwich. I had no idea that they would leave all the lunches on the hot school bus. She ate part of the sandwich. That night she got really sick. I felt so bad

Comment for pabav:
My baby was maybe 2 weeks old. I was exhausted and frazzled, and still couldn’t sit comfortably. On our way home from a doctors appointment, I decided to treat myself to one of the pleasures I had been dreaming about for the previous 9 months: a Starbucks caramel macchiato. As we waited to order, the woman behind me inquired about my daughter, then informed me SHE never would have taken any of her children out in public that young. Way to spoil a new mom’s coffee, Lady!

Great tees–great giveaway! An imperfect parenting moment? Changing my daughter in the backseat of my car. She was perfectly happy one minute and wailing the next. I couldn’t figure out why, so I held so I held for a few minutes to calm her down. She did–and it was only then that I noticed the seatbelt buckle had left a reddish imprint on the back of her head! Poor thing. I felt thorrible–and started crying with her. The imprint only lasted a few minutes–but what a terrible feeling!

I am sure I have a lot of imperfect parent moments — but the most memorable moments are with my second child who was so colicky. One of those imperfect moments came when she feel asleep finally after a long evening of fussing that instead of moving her into her into her crib and potentially waking her up I left her sleeping in the baby swing she feel asleep in. I just moved it into the bedroom with me and fell asleep from pure exhaustion.

My favorite moment was when my then 5-yr-old had just gotten to get his hgair cut into a mohawk. We were strolling through the local grocery store produce section when the older, balding, produce department man came over and commented “You need to go back for the rest of your haircut” Benjamin smugly replied “NO, it’s a MO-HAWK! it’s a type of haircut, not like BALD!” lol - I just said Have a great day” walked quickly away and high-fived Ben once we were out of sight!

We were shopping in Meijer and My daughter had a blowout. I went to change her in the restroom but we were out of diapers and only had a couple wipes left! Ugghhh. After that moment we always had diapers and wipes in the diaper bag/purse! I love the I’m my mom’s Job shirt!
July 22nd, 2009 at 2:12 pm
These are adorable! I’d love to give them to my sister for her little ones!
July 22nd, 2009 at 5:20 pm
I had so many imperfect minutes with my three kids I can’t remember any specifics. Now I’m repeating them with the grand kids.
July 22nd, 2009 at 5:37 pm
It would be doubly funny to have these on my twins. Thanks!
July 22nd, 2009 at 6:15 pm
I haven’t had my first yet
But I am sure I will have plenty of moments that are not exactly “perfect”!
July 22nd, 2009 at 6:22 pm
I’m due in November so I haven’t had any moments yet but I’m sure that I will have them often once the baby arrives.
July 22nd, 2009 at 9:08 pm
I forgot to strap her in her carseat…I was exhausted but it will never happen again!
July 22nd, 2009 at 9:18 pm
I hate when people touch my baby with dirty hands and always want to grab and touch him! I talk about these shirts to through hints to people!!
July 22nd, 2009 at 9:42 pm
I’m very imperfect! I know most people are in awe over their babies
and want to spend every waking moment with them. I’ve always been a working-out-of-the-home
mom and don’t feel guilty at all dropping the kids off for a day at the
babysitters so I can take a nap or have some “me” time!
I get alot of flack for this from some of the more “perfect” moms out there!
July 22nd, 2009 at 9:55 pm
attitude tees
July 22nd, 2009 at 10:48 pm
I’m another first time mom, so all the embarrassing moments come entirely from me at the moment!
We’ve already convinced a few people that we know our baby is British (Hubby is from Scotland), because she “drives” on the left - she’s been firmly on my left side through the entire pregnancy - There are now people convinced that babies in the UK all stay on the left, and American babies stay on the right!
July 22nd, 2009 at 11:19 pm
There have been way to many! Once, I was letting my daughter hang on to the shopping cart at a grocery store, when she should have been walking. I had to come to a sudden stop, and she ended up getting 4 stitches across her forhead!
Thanks for the chance!
July 23rd, 2009 at 10:31 am
I am having a baby in November and I know I will make mistakes but that is how you learn and I am sure your baby will not hold it against you.

Well I haven’t had a moment per say as I am still expecting…but I will have my fair share of imperfect moments once the little one arrives LOL.
July 23rd, 2009 at 4:20 pm
Oh, I am sure there are more to come. But my worst one I can think of right now is yelling at the cat who was right next to the baby. She, of course, thought I was yelling at her and just cried so hard. I felt awful.
July 23rd, 2009 at 6:25 pm
great tees! our baby is only a month long but in the hospital after
he was born, we tried changing his diaper for the first time and lets
just say it got messy
