Ugly Betty’s Been Sidelined
January 26, 2009

The award-winning dramedy Ugly Betty has been put on hiatus-indefinitely-beginning March 26, ABC has announced.
New episodes of Samantha Who? and Megan Mullally and Cheryl Hines’ freshmen comedy In the Motherhood will replace Betty in the network’s Thursday night lineup.
The network released a statement to Entertainment Weekly on Monday saying:
“Ugly Betty will return to Thursday nights at 8 p.m. following the run of In the Motherhood and Samantha Who?,” .
“The Thursday night block is a good opportunity to launch these comedies. Betty is a solid performer and there is no question that it will definitely be back to complete its season, just without repeats.”

*Gratuitous douche-baggy comment meant to make me look cool for hating a television show*

That’s really too bad. My wife and I have been keeping up with the
show since the beginning and I’m disappointed to see it go.

Shame I was a fan of that show. I guess they couldn’t compete with
My Name Is Earl.
