Top Guns Kelly McGillis Says ‘I’m Done With The Man Thing’

 

Kelly McGillis, 51, who is best known for playing Tom Cruise’s on-screen girlfriend Charlie in the 1986 movie Top Gun, has revealed that now looking to date a woman.

“I’m done with the man thing. I did that. I need to move on in life. It’s a part of being true to yourself. That’s been a challenge for me.”

On coming out as a lesbian the twice-divorced mom of two daughters, Kelsey, 19, and Sonora, 16, says:

“I think that (accepting my homosexuality) was an ongoing process from the time I was about 12. I had a lot of things happened that convinced me that God was punishing me for being gay. That was a hard process.”
