There’s Still Hope For Harry Potter Fans

J.K. Rowling, who is famous for writing the hugely popular Harry Potter series, has strongly hinted for the first time that she could add an eighth book to the series.
She finished the seventh book, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, last January and at the time she thought she was ending a 17-year association with the boy wizard, but is now admiting she has ‘weak moments’ when she feels she will pen another novel. Heck, even her 14 year old daughter is pressuring her to continue on with the series.
However, if an eighth novel were to be written, Rowling concedes it is unlikely that Harry would be the central character. Hmmmm, maybe Dumbledore, master wizard and Headmaster of Hogwarts, will take on an adventure of finding his one and only true love to live happily ever after?? Just a thought!
During a recent interview with Time magazine, which puts Rowling at Number 3 in its Person Of The Year list, she said:
“There have been times since finishing, weak moments, when I’ve said ‘Yeah, all right’ to the eighth novel. If - and it’s a big if - I ever write an eighth book, I doubt that Harry would be the central character. I feel I’ve already told his story. But these are big ifs. Let’s give it ten years.”
Until then, she has been and will be busy working on two writing projects, an adult novel and a “political fairy tale”, and is involved in charity work.
I for one have never gotten into the Harry Potter craze. I’ve not read a single book or seen a single movie in the series, I KNOW!! But it’s looking like the Harry Potter legacy has not been put to rest. With her talking so openly about the possibility of another book and her kids pressuring her, (oh and lets not mention the $$$$) I can see it happening. Lots of fans would be ecstatic, but then again…all good things must come to an end. Your thoughts??

I never read the books nor saw the movies either. My teen son read a few lines in the bookstore and said nawh.. this stinks, so boring, and he reads a lot.. I think she should move on to other stories and let this Potter business rest a few years too. She could do a bit of writing here and there until it’s done, because it’s in her mind now how she wants it to be and would easier to write the storyline to perfection at the final editing..

I say hallelujah! J.K. Rowling has a fantastic imagination, and another book focusing on the characters in the Harry Potter would be a real treat.
