The Real Housewives of New York City’s Kelly Killoren Bensimon Arrested For Assault

Kelly Killoren Bensimon, 40, one of six housewives featured in the reality TV series The Real Housewives of New York City, was arrested last week  and charged with misdemeanour assault after her man Nicholas Stefanov, 30, accused her of punching him during an altercation on Tuesday.

Stefanov filed a complaint with police and Bensimon turned herself in two days later.

In a statement to the New York Daily News Stefanov says:

“What are you supposed to do when a girl is hitting you, just sit there like a punching bag? If I had hit her, I’d be sitting in a jail cell right now.”

Kelly’s lawyer, Stephen Turano, says:

“The allegations are by a jilted lover saying she struck him during the course of an argument. We deny the charges, and we are hopeful this will be resolved.”

The two broke off their engagement during the alleged fight.

Bensimon is due back in court on March31.

Ok I’ve never seen the show, but considering it’s called The Real Housewives of New York City, why is she on there if she’s not even married??!
