Survivor Africa Winner Ethan Zohn Diagnosed With Cancer
May 18, 2009

Ethan Zohn, winner of Survivor: Africa, was diagnosed with cancer, stage two Hodgkin’s disease, on April 30.
Zohn had been experiencing unexplained itching and night sweats for months, originally thought to be a skin condition. Doctors later discovered a swollen lymph node under his left clavicle, and a CT scan showed a mass on the left side of his chest. Then last week Zohn learned he is suffering from a rare form the disease called CD20-positive Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He began chemotherapy last Friday.
Zohn, 35, tells People:
“This is the ultimate game of Survivor and there’s really only one outcome, and that’s to win. There’s no other option.”
His longtime girlfriend, Survivor: The Amazon winner Jenna Morasca, 27, says she will be at his side throughout the entire process:
“I will fight with every fabric of my being to get him through this.”
Our thoughts are with him and his family. Let’s hope he gets through this and comes out cancer free.
