Star Jones Recovering From Heart Surgery

Star Jones spent this past weekend recovering recovering from cardiac surgery she had on Wednesday.

People is reporting the surgery is related to rarely-performed surgery she had done three decades ago after developing a thoracic tumor.

Jones rep released a statement saying:

“On Wednesday, March 17th, a pre-planned cardiac surgery was performed on Star Jones.  This recent surgery is a follow-up to the thoracic surgery she had 30 years ago. The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family. Star is grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers.”

Jones, who will turn 48 on Wednesday, underwent gastric bypass surgery in 2003 and subsequently lost 160 lbs.
