Spartacus: Blood And Sand Star Andy Whitfield Diagnosed With Cancer

Andy Whitfield, star of the new Starz drama Spartacus: Blood and Sand, has been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and will begin treatment immediately in New Zealand.
The second season of Spartacus, which was scheduled to get started later this month, has been delayed as a result.
Whitfield’s cancer was detected early and they say it is treatable and his prognosis is good.
Whitfield released a statement saying:
“I’m receiving excellent care, and am feeling strong, positive and determined with an army of support behind me.”
Starz president Chris Albrecht says:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Andy. His health, of course, is our primary concern. He has our complete support during this difficult time.”
The first season of Spartacus: Blood and Sand ends April 16.
