Sienna Miller Signs On For ‘G.I. Joe’

November 20, 2007

Sienna Miller is the first to be cast in Paramount Pictures big-budget tentpole “G.I. Joe.”  I personally think there are a lot better casting choices out there for The Baroness, but what can ya do?  She is set to play the film’s female lead, described as a raven-haired baroness and sexy femme fatale skilled in espionage.

Stephen Sommers will direct the live-action film based on the Hasbro toys, comicbook and TV series.  The story is set at Brussels-based GIJOE, an acronym for the Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, and revolves around an international co-ed force of operatives who use high-tech equipment to battle Cobra, an evil org headed by a Scottish arms dealer.

Paramount has set a February start date, though the strike could put that in jeopardy, along with everything else.  Currently the release date is slated for August 7, 2009.
