Sheriff Announces ‘Balloon Boy Incident Was A Hoax
October 18, 2009
Balloon Boy’s family is in some deep trouble…
Larimer County, Colo., Sheriff Jim Alderden announced on Sunday that the balloon boy incident was indeed a hoax/publicity stunt saying:
“It has been determined this was a hoax.”
He added that no arrests will be made until the investigation is complete.
The Heene family, who spoke again to investigators on Saturday, may be charged with two felonies: conspiracy and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Alderden also said the kids will probably not face charges, but protective services will look into whether or not the children should be removed from the home.
Alderden said either one or both of 6-year-old Falcon Heene’s parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, came up with the hoax over two weeks ago as a means of getting on a reality TV show.
This is just sick. It’s bad enough the parents lied and put on this whole show, but to bring these young kids into it….UGH!
