Samuel L. Jackson has signed on for a a very large movie deal with Marvel where he will reprise the role of Nick Fury in as many as nine films for the company.

Jackson was hinted as playing Fury after the closing credits of the hit blockbuster Iron Man.

His character, an agent of the Shield, will feature in movies including Iron Man 2, Captain America and The Avengers as well as a possible film about the organization.

The Hollywood Reporter says:

“Jackson and Fury were expected to be part of (the Iron Man) sequel, but as Marvel negotiated with its cast, deals proved hard to come by.”

Before the deal was official there were rumored disagreements with the studio but Marvel has now confirmed the ten-movie deal.

Emily Blunt pulled out of Iron Man 2 earlier this month due to a scheduling conflict and Scarlett Johansson is reportedly in talks to take on the role of Black Widow in the sequel.
