Rumer Willis Goes Platinum Blonde, For Real!
September 28, 2007
Rumer Willis showed off her ‘do at Thursday’s opening of the James Perse store in Beverly Hills last night. She even changed her look mid-evening and greased back her new goldilocks for another event later last night. Ummmm, Ewwwww!!
“I came home and my parents were really shocked when I walked in the house,” she says. “My sisters looked at me like, ‘What? Your hair!’ But everyone, my parents, loved it.”
She says it took seven hours to change it up from jet balck to the platinum blonde at the Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills.
“Honestly, it just took a long time. I got there at like 1 [p.m.], and I didn’t leave until 8 p.m. I have really dark hair, so it took a long time, but it didn’t really hurt,” she says.
“I got the idea because the movie I just finished [I Know What Boys Like], I was wearing a blonde wig, so I saw myself like that. And I just went for it.” I always find that whenever I’m doing something big in my life, I want to change the hair.”

Give the girl a break. I think the pale blonde gamine hair softens her look. Her achilles heel is her very heavy jaw. She is trying, experimenting and seeing what fits. Kudos for that.
She may never be a classic beauty like her mother, but she is working towards being ‘Une Jolie Laide’, a French term for unconventional beauty that has more to do with style, wit, verve, self creation of style and intangibles.
This isactually important for the perception of beauty in all women, or it can be ‘empty’, but the ‘Jolie Laide’ uses intangeables and creativity powerfully to transform herself into a sexual success with men. She develops her ability to charm.
