Robert B. Parker Dies At Age 77

January 19, 2010

New York Times–bestselling author Robert B. Parker has died at the age of 77.

Alexa Manocchio, a spokeswoman for the Cambridge, Mass., police department reveals around 11 a.m. on Monday an ambulance was sent to Parker’s .  Manocchio says he died of “natural causes” and his death is not considered suspicious.

Parker wrote more than 50 novels, including 37 featuring Spenser, a hard-nosed Boston private investigator. The character was the basis for the 1980s TV series Spenser: For Hire starring Robert Urich.

Our hearts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
