Rachel Alexandra Wins The Preakness

 

Congrats to Rachel Alexandra for winning the 134th Preakness Stakes!  She became the first filly to win the Preakness since 1924.   Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird came in second.

Jockey Calvin Borel, who helped lead Mine That Bird to a victory at the Derby, was aboard Rachel Alexandra during the Preakness.

Borel has become the first jockey to win the first two legs of the Triple Crown on different horses. After the race he said of Rachel Alexandra:

“She’s the greatest horse I’ve ever been on in my life.”
