Playboy Goes 3-D
May 11, 2010

With 3-D being the latest craze, Hugh Hefner has decided to make his June 2010 issue of Playboy Magazine just that.
Hope Dworaczyk, 2010 Playmate of the Year, is featured in a special 3-D centerfold inside the mag, which hits newsstands Friday equipped with 3-D glasses.
Hefner decided to go about the 3-D piece to try and help boost circulation, which has dropped from 3.5 million in 2006 to 1.5 million today.
Editorial director Jimmy Jellinek, tells AP the issue is designed to remind readers that for all the infatuation with the Internet, there is nothing quite like having a magazine in your hands. Hef was sure to add that there are plenty of 2-D pics in the issue, too.
Hef also stated that said he first thought of using 3D when he launched his magazine in the 1950s saying: “I actually signed a photographer to shoot two nude women in 3-D in Chicago.” But he scrapped the idea when he realized how expensive it would be to include glasses with the mag.
This time around, HBO is helping out with the cost and also promoting their upcoming highly anticipated show ‘True Blood’ with True Blood written across the front of the glasses.
I’m sure most are wondering, do the glasses actually work?
Playmate Dworaczyk is holding a glass of wine and it reportedly looks like she is handing you the glass. The Playmate of the year adds that the 3-D photograph makes everything a little…bigger.
The 2010 Playmate of the year jokes:
“It’s kind of like it says on the rearview mirror. Things may appear larger.”
Could be interesting…
