‘Veggie Love’: PETA’s Banned Super Bowl Ad

PETA’s new wild and crazy “Veggie Love” ad that was supposed to be aired during this weekends Super Bowl (video above) has been banned and was rejected by NBC because “depicts a level of sexuality exceeding our standards.”

Spokesman for PETA, Michael McGraw told ET:

“Lingerie-clad women caressing broccoli spears, enjoying an odd asparagus moment, and kissing a pumpkin are too racy for Super Bowl audiences, says NBC. The network has benched PETA’s new TV ad launch promoting vegetarian foods — a campaign PETA had commissioned specifically for the big game.”

McGraw also says that PETA received a detailed e-mail by a representative at the network that requested PETA edit parts of the ad before it could air.

PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said:

“PETA’s veggie ads are locked out while ads for fried chicken and burgers are allowed –even though these foods make Americans fat, sick, and boring in bed.”
