Performer Dies During Opening Night Of Church Christmas Show

23-year-old Keri Shryock died Wednesday night during the opening night performance of a Christmas show at a Cincinnati mega-church.

According to Crossroads Community Church, Keri was playing the role of a wise man in a contemporary Nativity story and was suspended by an overhead cable when she fell about 25 feet Wednesday night during their opening show.  A spokeswoman for the church says it’s not clear how the accident happened.

Keri Shryock was rushed to the hospital and died Thursday morning at University Hospital. A church spokeswoman says Shryock was a graduate student at Xavier University.

The church has canceled the 10 remaining performance of the Christmas show.
