Noel Gallagher Quits Oasis
August 28, 2009

Noel Gallagher has quit Oasis after a drama-filled pre-concert fight with his bandmate and brother Liam.
Today, Friday August 28, 2009, just days after they dropped out of a performance at the V Festival in Chelmsford, England, they walked away from the Rock en Seine festival in Paris just minutes before they were due to be onstage.
Anxious fans were told by a giant screen that “an altercation within the band” was to blame. Singer Amy McDonald has confirmed there was a shake up, posting an account of the brothers’ tussle on her Twitter page.
She wrote:
“Cancelled again with one minute to stage time!!! Liam smashed Noel’s guitar, huuuge fight!”
Noel then went to the band’s official website where he posted a statement, tendering his resignation from the group he founded with Liam 18 years ago.
“It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer. Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan.”
The news of a split comes just days before the band was due to complete its world tour, which has been filled with reports of the brothers not getting along.
Earlier this week they released a statement denying split rumors:
“Oasis will complete the rest of the world tour in Europe and then take some well-earned time off before they begin to think about the next album and tour.”
DRAMA!!
