New Gnarls Barkley Video Too Crazy For MTV
March 5, 2008
The strobe effects in Gnarls Barkley’s new video, “Run” is so ‘crazy’ that it failed the Harding Test (guidelines established to prevent TV images from triggering epileptic seizures). So it won’t be airing on MTV anytime soon.
The video is available on various online outlets. Gnarls Barkley band member Danger Mouse was hopeful the situation could be resolved promptly….
“I don’t know exactly what’s going on, but we’re having issues. I think (the video) is cool. It works for me. But I’m not necessarily that easily seasick,” he told Billboard.com. “We can’t predict how people are going to interpret it.”
To be honest, I didn’t know MTV played music videos. Maybe if the video featured some post-pubescent drunken non-athletes competing in various stunts for cash prizes it would probably be played all day and night.
