Mine That Bird Wins The Kentucky Derby

 

With 50-1 odds, Mine That Bird pulled away in the stretch to score a 6 3/4-length victory at Churchill Downs, the second-biggest upset in the Kentucky Derby history.

After the big win, Mine That Bird Trainer Chip Woolley said:

“It’s a feeling like I’ve never had before. Calvin Borel is the best. He rode a beautiful race. They’ll know me now, won’t they?”
