Miley Cyrus Responds To Asian Photo Controversy

I’m sure you’ve heard by now all the controversy surrounding Miley Cyrus and the picture above that has infuriated Asian-American anti-hate groups.
Miley is now responding, insisting the photo was all in good fun and she was “simply making a goofy face.”
And she even managed to drag Britney Spears into the controversy.
Miley blogged:
“I’ve also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, I’m sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context!”
“In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy? It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. If that would of been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new ‘BAD GIRL’!”
“I feel like now that Britney is back on top of her game again, they need someone to pick on! Lucky me! haha Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know what is on my heart. You guys know me and have been by my side every step of the way! You guys know my heart and know the most important things to me are my friends, family, fans, and GOD! In NO WAY do I want to disappoint any of you! But, when I have made mistakes in the past, I feel like I’ve owned up to them and apologized.”

It seems to me that Miley has only “owned up to her mistakes in the past and apologized for them” only when, oh say, she pissed off Disney!! Or when people feel that her “usually pornographic” mistakes are disgusting and are stating that she is not a good influence to her fan base and she might lose money (like she hasn’t made enough already!! Her best course of action would be not to be photographed at all by family, friends, or the world acclaimed photographer who did that phto shoot of her in a really sick pose with her dad!! Or yes, and make a point to have all private parts covered in photos. Oh well, she’ll be a had-been soon enough, usually by the age of 21 or so, so hopefully that will be the end of all this publicity on her extremely poor choices!!

She may think that this pic is innocent and she’s just having fun. But a lot of Asians like myself and my friends- we were always made fun of by being called “chink” or other derogatory names, with
other ignorant people squinting their eyes making fun of us. People of other races have
no right to say that this is for fun and that it’s all right,they don’t know how we feel. They can’t tell us how to feel, if we’re hurt and offended, then we’re offended and hurt! I can only think if she made fun of people of another race, how everyone from that race would be up in arms! And as a child, it hurt more when another child made fun of us. Miley making fun of Asians, have hurt other kids and just made it “okay” for other white kids to continue making fun of other Asian kids.

Here is a girl who is the star of a CHILDS tv show and she doesn’t have the common sense to think twice before she does stuff. If she was a little girl, i would say that her parents should be keeping better track of what she publishes on line and that someone should probably let her know that that this kind of thing is inappropriate, however she is not a little kid anymore (even though she does play the role of one…), so she should know better. Its true that there is a person of asian decent in the picture but that doesn’t really mean anything, its still wrong, i mean how do you know he was ok with the situation? he might be her friend but he could have been upset. I can understand how all this publicity for a picture can seem a bit much but you know when your a celebrity and you know that people are watching ypur every move (especially when their kids) you might want to be careful. taking sketchy pic with parents, not really covering private parts, making stupid and potentially insulting remarks about people, posting private pics in which you are doing things that might be see as racist while being drunk surrounded by other obviously drunk people… i mean please, what parent would want their kid to be watching and imitating someone like that? And about the whole Britany thing, she’s wright about that, the media is treating her like they did Britany, but that because SHE IS ACTING THE SAME WAY (guess she couldn’t figure that one out on her own.).

Just because Miley is in the spot light, doesn’t mean she can’t just be a kid. This is so stupid to cause a fuss over it. I have made a few “goofy faces” in my life time including: fish faces, pig faces, fat faces, skinny faces, buck tooth faces, big mouth faces and so on and so on. You get the idea, but never have i go and mimick a face of a chinese person or a black person or what ever the race may be. She may be 16, but that is the legal age to drive and biologicaly have kids. I dont consider her as a kid when she has a 20 year old boyfriend. She should know better than that. You guys all need to understand that yes, she is a teen but she is also a celebrity. Which means she’s a role model to many, many little children. And your right, if any other non-celebrity made that picture not many people will mind. That’s because they are not famous. And Lindsay, i work in many areas relating to this kind of problem and let me tell u that if the asian had made “round eyes” then then no one would have said anything, not because it wasn’t disrespectful but because no one knows who he is and no one would follow in his footsteps or think it was cool, or cancel a contract he might have with a company or loose funding, etc. I really think yur not getting the point here, she may be 16, but she chose to live the life of a star, its not only the kids that follow her every step of the way, she also represents Disney, the owners of the Tv channels she’s on, the Record label she uses, the companies that make her stuff, the individual people who give her money and so on, if she screws up to many times then she going to get dumped because it will cost all these people a lot of money. This is such a bad photo. Yes it is racist, and mean and rude and in some ways I do believe she should
have to apologize and pay for it in some way. However I do think its sort of stupid that there is no
huge controversies made over the other people that are in this picture? AND please remember, she

Okay, she apologized. She owned up to things in the past. YET she does some more shit again. I mean, why does she think it’s okay making a “goofy face”? If she knows the press are gonna turn her pictures into something like a “bad girl status” then she shouldn’t be taking pictures like that.She should really use her head. Second of all, she’s hanging out with friends that seem older than her, and plus one guy is drinking, now she shouldn’t BS and say it’s soda. She needs to stop making herself look so innocent and own up to all this shit she causes. The promiscuous pictures, the older boyfriends, acting innapropriately and something new she’ll stir up again.She’s even lucky Disney gave her another chance, before they drop kick her ass out of that job. Alright she made a face big deal, people do it everyday, but in her response she talks about making a goofy face. Who is she calling goofy faces, asians? And if God is so important to her why the hell is she going to a party where beer and probably weed are at. Plus if any of you haven’t heard, her boyfriend is staying at her house now because otherwise she threatened to leave her parents. She is acting 16. Is not like she is the only 16 year old girl who goes to parties that are involved with alcohol. Im 99% sure that all of you reading this have.
Yes she is a role model for kids all ages…but put ur self in her shoes, it would suck for her to miss out of her wild teens just bc she has to set some good examples.
