Mickey Rourke Signs On For Iron Man 2

Mickey Rourke has signed on for a starring role as Russian villain Whiplash in the highly anticipated film Iron Man 2 alongside Robert Downey Jr., Sam Rockwell, Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson.

Rourke was rumored to have turned down the role after he was offered $250,000 for the part, but according to Variety, studio chiefs at Marvel upped his pay packet and he then accepted.

The movie is scheduled to hit cinemas in summer 2010.
