Michael Douglas’ son 31-year-old son, Cameron Douglas, was sentenced to five years in prison today, Tuesday, April 21, 2010, for dealing methamphetamine from a trendy Manhattan hotel, in which he called his “last chance to make it.”

Cameron apologized to family and friends before U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman made his sentence to a jam-packed courtroom, which included his Academy Award-winning father and mother, Diandra.

Douglas said:

“I’d like to apologize to my family and my loved ones for putting them through this nightmare of my making.”

Cameron, who is an admitted heroin addict, was also ordered to forfeit $300,000. A pre-sentence report listed his net worth as $500,000.
