Melissa George Leaving Grey’s Anatomy

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a single episode of the hit TV drama Grey’s Anatomy, but I know a lot of you do watch so I thought I’d share the news that Melissa George aka Dr. Sadie Harris on the show is leaving and her last day will be Tuesday.

This news broke a couple days ago, but oh well

She told Entertainment Weekly that it was her decision to leave.

Her deal with the ABC medical drama had an option for her to become a series regular, but show insiders say that their parting was more of a mutual decision and that George’s character Sadie Harris’s story line came to a natural end.

But unlike a few other Grey’s cast members that have left (Brooke Smith and Isaiah Washington) George is leaving on good terms saying:

“I’ve made some beautiful friends. I love T.R. Knight. I love Patrick Dempsey, Justin Chambers … I adore Ellen Pompeo. I think she’s a strong, incredible woman. And Katherine Heigl is the most beautiful creature on Earth.”

As for her exit from the series she added:

“it won’t be a big send off, but it’s really cool what they do.”

According to her IMDb page George has two films in post production, Stopping Power and Triangle.

On another note, Oscar winning actress Faye Dunaway will be joining the show for atleast one episode that will air in February during sweeps.
