Matt Lauer Bike Accident With Deer

 

The Today Show host Matt Lauer was absent from the news show this morning due to an accident this weekend involving him, his bike and a deer.

Lauer was according to NBC, riding his bicycle over the weekend when a deer jumped into his path causing him to flip over the bike’s handlebars and getting slightly hurt.

His co-host Meredith Vieira, had some fun with the incident joking on the air that Lauer:

“thinks the deer was hired by the competition.” Not true, Vieira insisted. “I hired the deer, but I said, ‘Just graze him.’ “

She added:

“Matt’s banged up with a displaced shoulder, it popped out. So hopefully he’ll be on the mend soon.”
