Lenny Kravitz Hospitalized With Bronchitis
February 11, 2008
Rocker Lenny Kravitz has been admitted to a hospital in Florida suffering from severe bronchitis. The 43-year-old musician was taken to the emergency room at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami, Florida on Monday morning after contracting the illness - which causes inflammation of the lungs.
Kravitz has suffered a series of severe respiratory tract infections since contracting the influenza virus last month and his condition has increasingly worsened.
A statement from his spokeswoman says, “Due to extreme dehydration and fatigue, doctors were unable to control it with outpatient treatment and advised the singer to check into the hospital. He was taken this morning to the emergency room at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami for immediate treatment.”
Although details on his condition and the expected length of his stay have not been released, the illness has forced the rocker to postpone a scheduled trip to Europe to promote his new album, It Is A Time For Revolution, which was released last week.
We wish him well.
