LeAnn Rimes Talks About Her Book ‘What I Cannot Change’
April 13, 2009
LeAnn Rimes was on The Today show this morning promoting her new book, What I Cannot Change.
Rimes, who reportedly had a fling with her Lifetime movie costar Eddie Cibrian, says she isn’t surprised that people are so interested in her love life.
“I’ve grown up in the press my whole life. I think people are fascinated with my personal life. And I totally get it.”
Though she added:
“I love what I do. I’m passionate about what I do. I get to write books like this and write songs like this and affect people’s lives. And I think through the song ‘What I Cannot Change,’ having touched so many people, that’s what I believe I’m here to do. And it’s such a blessing.”
“it’s been tough … to make that transition from child star to an adult, but I’ve been one of the very few, very small percentage that has and I’ve been very blessed that I have great fans that follow and support me.”
Listen to the song ‘What I Cannot Change’ in the video above and read the lyrics below.
LeAnn Rimes ‘What I Cannot Change’ Lyrics:
I know what makes me comfortable
And I know what makes me tick
And I when I need to get my way
I know how to pour it on thick
Cream and sugar in my coffee
Right away when I awake
I face the day, and pray to God
I won’t make the same mistakes
All the rest is out of my hands
I will learn to let go what I cannot change
I will learn to forgive what I cannot change
I will learn to love what I cannot change
But I will change, yeah I will change
Whatever I, whenever I can
Yeah I don’t know my father
Or my mother well enough
It seems like every time we talk
We can’t get past the little stuff
The pain is self-inflicted
I know it’s not good for my health
But it’s easier to please the world
Then it is to please myself
All the rest is out of my hands
I will learn to let go what I cannot change
I will learn to forgive what I cannot change
I will learn to love what I cannot change
But I will change, yeah I will change
Whatever I, whenever I can
Well I know I can’t care about how everyone else really feels
I have enough hurt of my own to heal
I will learn to let go what I cannot change
I will learn to forgive what I cannot change
I will learn to let go what I cannot change
I will learn to forgive what I cannot change
I will learn to love what I cannot change
But I will change, yeah I will change
Whatever I, whenever I can
