Celebrity PETA Supporters Have Blood on their Hands

Today the Center for Consumer Freedom criticized the celebrity supporters of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in a full-page advertisement in Variety for endorsing the animal rights group even as it kills thousands of animals in its care. The ad coincides with the airing of an HBO documentary about PETA’s president titled, “I am an Animal: The Story of Ingrid Newkirk and PETA.”
The ad reads:
PETA Supporters Have Blood on Their Hands
As Americans learn more about People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals and its eccentric founder, Hollywood stars should know the whole story. Despite the well-known animal rights group’s $30 million budget, it spends very little actually caring for adoptable animals. Instead, it kills them. By the thousands.
Government records show that between 1998 and 2005, PETA killed more than 14,000 dogs and cats at its Virginia headquarters. (The group refuses to release its 2006 numbers.) In 2005, PETA killed 90 percent of the pets in its care. Some were thrown in trash dumpsters. Most were incinerated. PETA’s donors footed the bill.
That’s not “ethical.” It’s hypocritical.
“Ingrid Newkirk runs the most disingenuous animal group on the planet,” said Center for Consumer Freedom Director of Research David Martosko. “PETA takes pet lovers’ donations with one hand while administering lethal injections with the other.”
Martosko continued: “What’s next? Will Greenpeace start harpooning whales? Alec Baldwin, Pam Anderson, Alicia Silverstone, and the rest of Tinseltown’s finest should think twice before throwing their support behind a compromised, hypocritical group like PETA.”

I think this is best yet. Definately. It is right along the long road to what her life is about. Performance Art. Simple as that. This is the most genius thing I have ever seen! INCREDIBLE performance. I apologize to those that fail to recognize the shear amount of creativity and work that went into putting together a performance in which everything was perfectly timed and actually told a story, because no matter what I say, it won’t change your closed minds which are programmed to hate anything that isn’t normal and utterly boring. The art and professionalism of this performance is something that has been missing from pop music for a long time. I still don’t like much of the music on her album, but I would see Lady Gaga perform any day.

It took me a while to fully value and appreciate the artistic quality of this performance. It obviously represents the life of Michael Jackson, who was crippled (crutch/wheelchair) by the media, and the fame and attention ultimately lead to his mental and emotional demise. This performance is classic and innovative. She is the Salvador Dali of performance.

This performance was the first time I had ever seen Lady Gaga perform (although I had heard of her, who hasn’t?) and I loved it. It was fun and different. I also liked Pink’s performance very much. Every once in a while a genius comes along.
At first, a couple of radio tunes caught my ear. I bought Fame Monster, and every song caught my ear.
What an explosive finish to sort of a ho-hum decade.
As incredible as her art is and performances like this are, I somehow get the feeling that she has more creativity and songs in her head than time allows for.
We are just scratching the surface.

Lady GaGa…I believe is the symbol of a new generation. It thrills me to know that the world is so accepting and appreciative to such unique diversity as to the kind that lady gaga possesses. She is without a doubt a bit odd, but its absolutley fascinating and actually all together endearing. To the general public her music is catchy and dancy and her image, although somewhat outlandish is magnificent and beautiful. To me she is surreal. I honestly don’t know wether to call her a woman or an entity. She has literally came into my life as this marvelous and spell binding icon of everyhthing I loved and everything that strangley represented myself. Her obsession with glamour and fame and her relentless fascination with art and fashion is not only what makes lady gaga beloved. It is her nature of really giving a shit what others think and creating this disco heaven like world where her fans are little monsters who don’t need to hide who they really are. She is inspiring as she is ravishing, for she emphasizes with the ones who feel freakish and crave the need to express themselves without discrimination. She makes me smile laugh dance and cry for the person she is and the incredible mark she has left in history. She is the most gigantic pop sensation I think this world has ever seen. And her remarkable rise to fame is a fantastic legend. it seemed that overnight this new york waitress with dreams as big as the sky actually made her throne in the sky and above the stars looking down at all of those who love and adore her. I am one of them and this performance made me cry. It was deep, gruttal and emotional. Blood or not the meaning of this wonderful song had its glory at last on the vma stage, and I think that’s when I first realized I loved lady gaga.

I had always sort of ignorantly thought that lady gaga was a freak who was desparate for attention, and then I looked her up. She is extremely talented (as heard through her live performance here) and a wonderful entertainer and young woman.
As to all of you ignorant pricks out there like I used to be, maybe you should do some research instead of listening to just the media and paparazzi and their comments about her. She has brought a whole new level of performance to us and we’re blessed to have her.
Also, yes, in an interview she did say her performance was based off of princess diana’s death and how she was driven to death by the media. I hope this makes you realize how creative she really is and important her performances are to her… she isn’t trying to just be some ugly “used tampon” for no reason, she’s sending a great message.
