Kings Of Leon Cancel US Tour
August 1, 2011
Kings of Leon left Dallas fans upset on Friday night after lead singer Caleb Followill left the stage after suffering from ‘heat exhaustion’ and didn’t return leaving band mates, bassist Jared Followill and guitarist Matthew Followill, to try to calm the crowd.
After the show Jared Tweeted:
“Dallas, I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am. here are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed.”
Then on Saturday followed up with:
“I love our fans so much. I know you guys aren’t stupid. I can’t lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade.”
The rockers have now announced that they have canceled their North American tour.
“We are so sorry to say … [cancellation is] due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion. The band is devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break. The band will resume touring in Canada at the Rogers Center in Vancouver, B.C., on September 28. That show was originally scheduled for September 14th.”
Those who have already purchased tickets for any of the upcoming shows won’t be able to attend rescheduled performances because of the band’s international tour schedule, but their purchases via online or phone will be automatically refunded.
