Kelly Clarkson New Single To Make History
January 29, 2009

Our very first American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, is making a powerful return to the charts after being away for a bit.
Billboard is reporting that her new single ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’ will make history today Thursday, January 29, 2009, bolting from No. 97 on the U.S. singles chart to the top position.
The song reportedly sold 280,000 digital downloads in its first week of release. Billboard reports that “My Life Would Suck Without You” is her seventh top-10 hit since 2005.
But Billboard is makes sure to stress that ‘this record is only for the “largest leap” in the history of the single chart, not the highest first-week sales total.’ For example, Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body” sold 286,000 downloads when it debuted last year.
Clarkson breaks the record set recently by Britney Spears with “Womanizer,” which shot all the way to No. 1 from No. 96.
Listen to her new single HERE. I love it! She ‘officially’ debuted the music video during last night’s American Idol. I missed it, but I’m sure it was sweet!
Kelly Clarkson’s latest album “All I Ever Wanted” is due March 10.
Go Kelly!
