Katie Couric Gives Her Final CBS Evening News Broadcast

After 5 years at the news desk, Katie Couric gave her final broadcast on the CBS Evening News last night, saying:  “It’s been an extraordinary privilege to sit in this chair and a real honor to work with so many talented people here at CBS News. “

They then played a 5 minute clip of the history making people and events they’ve covered over the past 5 years.

Couric, 54, ended the night saying:

“And to all of you watching, thank you so much for coming along with me on this incredible journey.  That’s the CBS Evening News for tonight. I’m Katie Couric. Goodnight.”
