Katharine McPhee Fans Take Action

May 30, 2007

American Idol snubbed Katharine McPhee during the season and the finale.

Katharine called them herself, trying to get on the [finale],” a source close to the singer tells Us. “She’s really hurt.”

What’s up with that?  She called and they still didn’t invite her or allow her to come?  How rude! Anyways, some of her hardcore fans have gotten together and created this Kit Kat logo and are sending the candies and a note out to all the Idol execs to show their disappointment in the show and their support for Katharine.  Click here if you want to get in on the action.   Kat’s mom Peisha McPhee is even giving the thumbs up on ‘Project Kit Kat!’

Thanks Jim!

That’s great. I hope it takes off like it should. Kat got messed over and her fans need to let her know we’re not taking it sitting down.

  2. Kiera Says:

Awesome! I love Katharine and she should have totally been there during that finale.

  3. Lynn Says:

    She is so pretty

  4. Z Says:

Yeah, what a bunch of crap. They let Kellie Pickler make a guest appearance during the season, then they let Chris, Elliot and SANJAYA perform on the finale, but not last years runner up?? Chris and Elliot weren’t from this season. The more I think about this the more pissed I get.

  5. Amanda Says:

Great Idea, and I hope it shows the MCPHEEVER POWER

  6. Bob Says:

I wondered about this myself. I remember seeing Kellie perform, and I believe I saw Carrie at least 2-3 times. Both Chris & Elloit were invited back,… so, why not Kat? She took 2nd place last year, she should’ve been invited back sometime during this years season too!

  7. L. Phee Says:

GOOD! I’m glad Kat fans are speaking up because her not getting invited back this year was redonk! GOOO Kat fans!

Poor.Poor Kit Kat and her Moma ,has resorted to pimping her fanbase to beg for her, Her album has tanked. Elliot is in top 20, Kelli has trippled Kats sales and the sales of Chris Daughtery, has left her in the dust. Her total sales has been around 320,00 sinnce her album was released in Jan. Even Taylor has outsold her. Hey, Mcphans, jump into reality, the album sucked, Mcphee said she didn’t want to be associated with half the songs on the her album. Pity thise poor people that bought it.

  13. Katcrazy2006 Says:

No, Katty. Kat and her mother had nothing to do with this protest. Ms. McPhee has accomplished a great deal this year and 320,000 in sales so far is certainly not bad. Her second single has just been released so give her some time. She went in a different direction musically from what she did on Idol so she is gaining new fans every day. Kat rocks!!!

  14. Teilah Says:

I’m a loyal Kat fan and this is a great way to let Idol executives know how much KAT was missed this season. The fans are pissed and with good reason. McPhans are very upset about Kat being the only top finalist from last year who didn’t perform on Idol this season. Since she was the 1st Runner Up, if anybody deserved to be there, it was Kat.

  15. Tina Says:

Great news!! The decision not to invite Katharine McPhee back to the show this Season was disgraceful! After seeing her on newstands for months, interviews, concert tour performances, award shows, TRL and VH1 countdowns, touring with huge music icons…American Idol has to realize that each one of these accomplishments not only promotes Katharine but the American Idol name that follows her name each time. To disrespect someone who is helping to further the promotion of the show is foolish and very unprofessional. Shame on the producers for causing such ill will for Katharine and her fans.

  16. STEVE Says:

KATHARINE IS AN OUTSTANDING VOCALIST WITH NO DOUBT.
SHE SHOULD HAVE APPEARED IN IDOL
AS AN INVITED GUEST. SHE WAS RUNNER UP ON SEASON 5 IDOL. SHE WAS THE ONE THAT MESMORIZE AMERICA WITH
“OVER THE RAINBOW” HER NEW ALBUM
IS VERY PROMISING. STARTED WITH ‘OVER IT’ AND NOW THE RELEASE OF HER SECOND SINGLE “LOVE STORY”.

  17. Danette Says:

Katty, you sure are! Before you talk about something like you KNOW what you’re talking about you should probably check your facts. #1 Kat’s fans are not robots directed by Kat or her family.
#2 This project was initiated by one of her fans who had a very creative idea and a respectful way of protesting (I would’ve sent them all the empty wrappers!)
#3 The second runner-up on AI is given a record deal.
#4 This WAS a slap in the face because winner’s 3, 4 and 6 entertained on the show during the season but NOT #2…no matter how you feel about Katharine, she deserves more respect than that.

  18. Danette Says:

Also, to all those who think Kat is stuck up why don’t you visit katharinemcphee.com and listen to the video blogs she has made for her fans, also on her myspace page. If you have really followed her career as we have you would really know how honest, caring a real she is instead of the “make believe” stuff that has been put out there by people who have never even given her a chance…And we wonder why we’ll never achieve world peace…pshawwww!

  19. KitKatRocks Says:

I can certainly understand why Kat fans are ticked off. She should have been included. In fact, AI upset a lot of fan bases this year. The Idol franchise should strive to support all their artists and not play favorites. It doesn’t sit well with the fans.
