Johnny Depp May Not Return For Latest ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Film
September 22, 2009

Johnny Depp who has played Captain Jack Sparrow, the lead role in all three installments of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, has revealed that there is a possibility he just may not appear in the next pirate film.
After the departure of Disney chief executive Dick Cook last Friday, Depp says he will have to wait to see the script for the next venture, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides before he will commit to being in the film.
Depp says he was “shocked and very sad” about the news when Cook phoned to tell him he was leaving.
Depp says:
“There’s a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment. He is the utmost gentleman, so he made the call himself. He didn’t give me a reason. I didn’t see this coming. There was no reason to see this coming.”
He also credits Cook for convincing him to sign on for Pirates of the Caribbean in the first place adding:
“He’s instantly trustworthy. And you generally don’t meet people at the studios you trust. He’s a rare beast.”
Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, who have also co-starred in the last three movies, have already said they will not be returning.
If he doesn’t come back then they may as well just call the whole thing off. He IS the movie.

Ouch that may hurt the series, I’ve heard many girls swoon over him..
if he’s gone they may not be so interested.

Would hate to see this happen, but if the script is’nt good
why take a chance on ruining the character. It would’nt make sense to do that.
