John Travolta & Kelly Preston’s 16-Year-Old Son Jett Has Passed Away
January 2, 2009

OMG, how sad. John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s 16-year-old son Jett Travolta died Friday while on vacation with his family in the Bahamas.
Michael Ossi, a lawyer for the family, told Reuters that Jett suffered a seizure at his family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. The death was first reported by TMZ.
Attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene, Ossi said.
Jett, who had a history of seizures and was said to be suffering from Kawasaki Syndrome, a condition which often leads to heart disease, is the only son of Travolta and Preston. They also have a daughter, Ella Bleu, 8.
TMZ is also reporting that Jett’s body will be transferred to Restview Memorial Mortuary and Crematorium in the Bahamas on Monday.
UPDATE: Police just released more details. According to a report, Jett was last seen going into the bathroom at their private suite at the Old Bahama Bay Resort sometime yesterday. The body was discovered by the caretaker, Jeff Michael Kathrein at 10:00 AM today. The report says Jett suffered from seizures.
An autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death.
Another report from People says: The teen hit his head in a bathtub Friday morning and was declared dead at Rand Memorial Hospital, police spokeswoman Loretta Mackey told the Associated Press.
According to police, a caretaker had found Jett unconscious in the bathroom around 10 a.m. An autopsy is being pursued to determine the exact cause of death.
Our hearts are with their family at this tragic time.
