Jessica Alba And Bill O’Reilly Are Still Going At It
January 28, 2009

Jessica Alba has blasted news anchor Bill O’Reilly after he suggested she didn’t know her history on his Fox News program.
She took to her MySpace.com blog to defend herself after O’Reilly called her “misguided” for poking fun at a journalist during an inauguration event last week. Alba asked the reporter what he liked most about new President Barack Obama, and when he refused to answer, she joked, “That’s it, be neutral. Be Sweden about it.”
O’Reilly and TMZ.com both subsequently ridiculed Alba, insisting she meant Switzerland, not Sweden - but she is having the last laugh.
On her blog, she wrote:
“I find it depressing that, in the midst of perhaps the most salient time in our country’s history, individuals are taking it upon themselves to encourage negativity and stupidity. Last week, Mr. Bill O’Reilly and some really classy sites insinuated I was dumb by claiming Sweden was a neutral country. I appreciate the fact that he (O’Reilly) is a news anchor and that gossip sites are inundated with intelligent reporting, but seriously people… it’s so sad to me that you think the only neutral country during WWII was Switzerland. I appreciate the name calling and the accurate reporting. Keep it up!”
TMZ.com has since apologized for criticizing the actress, stating:
“She is absolutely correct. Sweden was a neutral country… 60 years ago. We apologize for not considering the political climate of the world in 1942 when we suggested she may have meant, ‘Be Switzerland’ - a country that is currently neutral.
Our sincerest apologies.”

Just to be clear from a swedish politics major, Sweden currently has
as I write this a neutrality policy written into our mainly unused
constitution. So Jessica Alba is right, Bill O’Reilly is wrong. No
matter how many excuses TMZ.com tries to come up with.
