Jay Leno, who turns 59 on Tuesday, was hospitalized today, Thursday, April 23, 2009, after complaining he wasn’t feeling well.

An NBC rep told UsMag:

“Jay Leno is doing just fine.  He was kidding around with the hospital staff and running his monologue jokes by the doctors and the nurses. He’s expected back to work on Monday.

A repeat of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno will air tonight as Mr. Leno is not feeling well.”

The Associated Press has confirm that Jay checked in to a hospital in Burbank, California, around midday and will remain admitted “for observation.”

NBC has confirmed that the scheduled taping for tonight’s episode, with guests being X-Men Origins: Wolverine actor Ryan Reynolds, celebrity animal trainer Jules Sylvester and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, has been canceled and a re-run will take its place.
