Jaime King on Depp/Heard Divorce: “It is a Deeply Painful Situation”

Actress Jaime King has opened up on how she feels about Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's divorce drama.

J aime recalls working with Johnny Depp when she was first starting out as an actress and reveals what he was like to be around during filming. Jaime recalls learning so much from Depp and was impressed with how dedicated he was to his work. She looked up to him as a mentor at the time and she believes he showed her what acting is supposed to be:

“Listen, I love Johnny Depp. One of my very first movies he played my father. I learned so much from him. I have so much respect for him. He is one of the most loving, kind, generous, attentive, brilliant men that I’ve ever met. I would have scenes that he wasn’t even in and he wouldn’t even leave. He would just stay to watch. He would rehearse with me. There was so much that I learned from him. He was an incredible mentor. Being able to work with someone like that at the beginning of my career really taught me what it meant to be a true professional and a true artist.”

Jaime explains that she thinks both Amber and Johnny are hurting from the divorce drama they’re going through and she thinks it must be a “deeply painful situation” for both. She added that people shouldn’t be seeing it as a source of entertainment:

“Bottom line, what bothers me the most is that people are being hurt on both sides. It is a deeply painful situation and people are treating it as if it’s entertainment, and it’s not f**king funny. And it’s not entertaining.”

Jaime doesn’t think people should be taking sides because everything is “hearsay”. She comments that the only way forward is to help each person get through their own situation:

“It’s all hearsay. It’s all he said, she said. Frankly, it’s not about sides because we cannot take sides in a situation that we’re not there for, bottom line. It’s about loving and supporting each person by saying, give them their privacy let them work it out. Also, bring awareness to any sort of domestic violence because no matter what happened or did not happen, that is really not important.”
