Is The Hogan’s Divorce All Just A Strategic Move To Save Their Assets?

November 27, 2007

Are the Hogan’s using this ‘divorce’ as a strategic move to protect their assets in a possible civil suit involving the wreck that critically injured their son Nick’s good pal John Graziano.

Kimberley Kohn, a Tampa attorney who represents Ed Graziano, the father of injured passenger John Graziano lawyer seems to think so.

As we are all well aware, Linda Bollea filed a petition for a divorce last week against her husband of nearly 24 years Terry Bollea aka Hulk Hogan), who seemed very shocked to learn this news from a reporter calling for comment.

In the petition she seeks a split of the couple’s assets, including a Belleair mansion and Clearwater Beach home with combined assessed values topping $7.9-million.

Graziano’s lawyer says a divorce could be one step the Bolleas could take to try to protect assets. That’s because it could cut Terry Bollea’s assets in half, she said.

Nick Bollea faces a felony charge of reckless driving with serious bodily injury, and attorneys for John Graziano’s estranged parents have said they intend to file a lawsuit as a result of the crash.

But if the Supra and the Viper are not registered to both parents, it could be harder to go after Mrs. Bollea individually, Kohn said. The mother’s degree of control over who used the vehicles would have to be determined.

Kohn said she would proceed with a civil suit as if the couple were married. She and attorney George Tragos, who represents Graziano’s mother Debra, will handle any civil suit, which she expects will be filed in 2008.

Sounds like gold digging to me.

Its pretty sad, actually. While Nick certainly was not in the right, John’s been known through the grapevine for racing his cars on the streets before he went into service. This seems more of a money grab by John’s parents than anything.

In fact, a search of public records in Pinellas county shows numerous unlawful speed and various other driving related citations.

Don’t get me wrong, I feel for the family and John’s going to need constant medical care but I’m shocked the family didn’t see this coming a mile away.

If it wasn’t the Hogan’s related in this, I doubt you would even see a civil suit outside of suing the insurance company.

Someone has a big shovel….just wrong!

If that’s really the reason for the divorce, then it’s brilliant!

I hope the money-grubbing lawyers trying to sue the parents end up penniless!

[…] It seems that there’s a RUMOR the Hogan divorce… is a SHAM! That’s right! This whole thing about having the world kicked out from under him blah blah blah… LIES! […]

  6. epic Says:

umm they’re were having “problems” , as illustrated on the tv show long before the accident happened

  7. whowasdriving Says:

Johns driving history is irrelevant. Nick was, apparently, driving recklessly and had an accident in which John was forever damaged and will need 100% care forever; something Nick (or his parents if they are his legal guardians) should and likely will pay for regardless of shenanigans.

  8. Brenda Says:

Nick is at fault, but why was John not wearing a seat belt. If John had his seat belt on like he was suppose to things would be different right now.

  9. digginestdogg Says:

The only element of John’s behavior that is relevant is what contributed to his injuries. Because he didn’t make all reasonable efforts to ensure his safety, i.e. he wasn’t wearing his seat belt, the damage award will be reduced appropriately. However, Nick was driving and bears the lion’s share of responsibility. As well he should. If you engage in reckless behavior and injure someone, you should pay. Even if your dad is rich and famous.

I think the Hogans are totally messed up. Things should never have gone this far with Nick. Because of the way his previous incidents were handled and the poor example they set Nick is in a terrible position. John Graziano’s is worse. They should step up and take care of it like adults.
Anyways, John Graziano’s lawyers released a statement today if you’re interested. http://esmereldasays.com/2007/11/29/john-grazianos-lawyers-issued-a-statement/

i have been a “hogan know best” fan from the start and i cant believe linda is doing this to a man that loves her soooo much!!!! COLD…..now on the other hand if its a ploy for nick accident I APPLAUD….as far as nick and the legal charges, he is a GREAT kid and did what most do, yes he bares fault but is passenger is of age and responsible for his chosing not to ware his seat belt and bare his own responsibility for that… course the legal system sucks as do most judge’s decisions
