Hayden Panettiere Explains Her New Red Hair

Hayden Panettiere officially showed off her new red hair at the Temple Grandin premiere in New York this week.  Such a big change from a girl that has always had gorgeous natural blond hair.

When asked on the red carpet why she went for the auburn color Hayden said:

“Because I could, because I was done with the season.  I was like, ‘I need to change, I need to get myself out of this slot. I don’t feel like a blonde right now!’”

But the Heroes star warns us this is just the begining of the color change:

“I was going to go dark.  And then I decided to go red first — and then dark.”
