Happy 40th Anniversary Sesame Street!

This month marks Big Birds Birthday (his first appearance on Sesame Street was November 10, 1969) and the 40th Anniversary of the educational children’s television series classic Sesame Street.

The show premiered on November 10, 1969 and is the longest running children’s program on US television.

To celebrate the start of their 40th season a few of the Muppets will be making their way onto late night TV this week.

Tonight Big Bird will be a special guest on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ And next Monday Elmo and Rosita will visit ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.’

Jimmy and Elmo are practically BFF’s considering Elmos appeared on Late Night last April and Fallon is a guest on the upcoming 40th season of Sesame Street.

Sesame Street is definitely a household name.  Congrats and here’s to 40 more great seasons!
