Gwyneth Paltrow Almost Retired After Having Her Babies

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow, 35 considered retiring at the age of 31 because she had “no interest in making movies any more”.  After the birth of her first child, Apple, in 2004 with husband Chris Martin she just couldn’t get back into it and took a long hiatus.

Paltrow remained out of the movie making world until after the birth of their second child, Moses, in 2006.  And she admits she considered never going back to the film business.

“I thought about doing that (retiring) because I really felt that way. I had no interest in making movies any more. I didn’t know if it would ever come back. And as it turns out, it did. I didn’t die. I’m not being resurrected. But I never want to work in the same way I worked in my former life. Never. It’s too expensive for me to be away (from my children).”

Well it’s a good thing she did or she would have missed out on her most recent movie, Iron Man, which brought in over $100 million in its opening weekend!
