Hunky George Clooney is returning to the hit TV show E.R. for the show’s series finale.

Clooney starred as Dr. Doug Ross from 1994 to 1999 in the long-running series before leaving to pursue his very successful movie career.

But after the show has been on air for 15 seasons, Clooney has agreed to return for an unspecified number of episodes, according to People.com.

Clooney is reportedly started filiming his scenes on the Warner Bros. set in LA Thursday and will continue through today.

And he’s not the only big star returning, his former TV lover Julianna Margulies is also  coming back for the finale.

Insiders say Margulies, who played NurseCarol Hathaway during the show’s first six seasons, will be joining him on the set for one final episode saying:

“They are the last two of the original cast to make one last appearance.  It’s part of an effort to wrap up all of the original characters’ storylines.
