Here is the first clear look at Heath Ledger as ‘The Joker’ in Batman. Rumor is that this is just a make-up test and concept. What do you guys think, do you like the new Joker?

Other websites (Dlisted) are reporting that this is a fake…
The first shot of Heath Ledger as The Joker in the new Batman movie that hit the internet yesterday is a fake. A poster at the Superhero Hype message boards decoded the puzzle. The faker used a picture of Heath Ledger from the “Candy” premiere and also a make-up test shot from “Lord of the Rings” featuring Orlando Bloom to create the fake.

It makes me laugh when people talk about how impossible it would be to follow Jack Nicholson as the joker. Surely it was made perfectly clear by Batman Begin that Nolan’s version is taken from a completely different angle. Where as Burton’s Batman was big, silly and animated (don’t get me wrong I did like it but having watched it again recently it all seems a bit too pantomime) Nolan has created a darker, dirtier and more grounded world. It really makes Batman plausible and much more engaging. I believe whatever he does with The Joker will be more understated and a lot more sinister. Sorry if this is a long rant, I’m really pissed. Must sleep. Cheers.

Nolan’s Batman Begins was not “darker” then Burton’s Batman and Batman Returns.

dude…ur an idiot. yes it was. nolans batman like that other dude said, is a lot more real, which would have to make the whole situation darker! think about the actual storyline of batman and how it began, it was portrayed way to silly by burton. nolan is making this situation a lot more plausible…and DARKER. by the way, heath ledger as the joker is kickass.

He will dwarf Nicholson’s Joker.
I have seen test clips.
This is insane.
I love Jack, but Heath made this role HIS. Just like Brandon Lee did with Eric Draven. No one will be able to play Joker again after this. Trust me.
