W hen I first watched and listened to the video of Britt McHenry, an ESPN reporter who I do not know, I first thought that she deserved her suspension from ESPN (for a week). Yes, she lost her cool and said things that were not very nice to some woman who was working at the impound lot. But then I thought back to my experience when I had my car impounded and I thought about how upset I was and how unfair it was that they did it to my car. Since I don’t know exactly what happened to her car, I don’t think I’m in any position to make a judgment about whether her frustration was appropriate. But if the reason for having her car impounded was a bogus one, then perhaps the people at the lot should be apologizing to her, and not the other way around.
