Eddie Murphy Ordered To Pay A Lot In Child Support

 

Eddie Murphy, 47, and former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, 33, have appeared to finally put an end to their long and ugly legal battle over the child support to their daughter, Angel Iris, 22 months.

Murphy has reportedly been ordered to pay approx $51,700 per month in support until Angel turns 18 years old.  Murphy has also finally agreed to start seeing his daughter.

The two have spent the past 15 months in the Los Angeles courts where both have signed non-disclosure contracts to prevents them from discussing the settlements in public.

A friend of Mel has said:

“Mel is delighted that the case is over as she just wanted what was right for the girl.”

“It was never about the money - it was Mel’s way of asking Eddie to show consideration for Angel.”

Melanie and Eddie dated in 2006 for about six months. After they split and she gave birth to Angel in April 2007, Murphy questioned if he was the father until a DNA test proved he in fact was.

Two months later Mel married producer Stephen Belafonte in Las Vegas in a secret ceremony. She also has a nine-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, from her first marriage to dance Jimmy Gulzar while Murphy has five other children with his ex-wife Nicole Mitchell.
