Dodgers Owner Frank McCourt and Wife Jamie McCourt Spilt

The owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Frank McCourt, and his wife, Jamie McCourt, announced yesterday, October 14, 2009, that they are separating after 30 years of marriage.

Jamie McCourt is the Vice Chairman and president, taking on Dodgers business side of the franchise while Frank’s son Drew McCourt is the director of marketing for the Dodgers.

A spokesman for the McCourt’s released a statement saying:

“This is a personal matter and they request that their privacy be respected.”

Rumors are swirling that the split won’t be amicable and may force the sale of the team.
