Action man-turned-politician Arnold Schwarzenegger’s bid to outlaw same-sex marriage in California has been overturned by the state’s Supreme Court.
Officials have ruled that gay marriages are legal unions in the state, and those who wed during a spate of same-sex nuptials at San Francisco’s City Hall in 2004 will be recognized as married couples.
Those marriages were all declared void by officials who were against same-sex marriages.
Governor Schwarzenegger was among those who opposed the gay weddings.
But on Thursday, the Supreme Court officials ruled state laws against same-sex marriage are unconstitutional.
In a statement released shortly after the ruling, Schwarzenegger declared he will “respect” and “uphold” the decision.
The former movie star also reiterated previous promises he made to California’s gay community, that he will not support “an amendment to the constitution that would overturn this State Supreme Court ruling.”
California becomes the second U.S. state to legalize same-sex marriage.

Mainly referring to the swarm of photogs who constantly pursue Spears filming her every move saying their behavior is dangerous. She insists Spears’ recent string of car collisions is down to them taking high risks to ensure they get lucrative photos of the pop star.
”I love acting more than anything else in the world, so I can’t see myself stopping. But I think this situation is becoming so dangerous - it causes car accidents. There’s no differences between what they do and stalking somebody. Look at somebody like Britney Spears - who deals with 50 cars following her all the time - nobody gives her room to heal.”
And Panettiere is devastated the Toxic singer has fallen out of favor with music fans because she was her idol growing up adding:
”To me growing up, she was everything, and we built her up and ripped her down.”

After checking out controversial pictures of Barton in a bikini in Australia, which the actress insists were doctored to make her look awful, Christian is convinced she could use his help.
He tells the New York Daily News:
”She needs them, with all the cottage cheese cellulite on her ass.”
Barton’s spokesperson, Lisa Perkins, is adamant someone tampered with the photos, which have appeared in magazines and newspapers and on various websites.
She previously told the New York Daily News:
”Those photos are doctored. I’m not saying she’s perfect, nobody is. But they’ve given a 22-year-old woman the legs and bottom of an 80-year-old.”
