Dame Judi Dench Done With Bond Films But They Refuse To Let Her Leave

Veteran actress Dame Judi Dench says she wants to quit the Bond movies - but producer Barbara Broccoli refuses to let her go.

The British star joined the film franchise at the spy’s boss M in 1995’s Goldeneye and became an instant hit with fans, but she often threatens to walk away from the role until movie bosses convince her to stay.

Broccoli, the daughter of original Bond producer Cubby Broccoli, tells Comingsoon.net:

“She is our anchor. She is the anchor of the film in terms of the character. She is the only authoritative figure in Bond’s life.

“She had such a great relationship with Pierce (Brosnan) on the screen and she has such a great relationship with Daniel (Craig). She is our anchor. She is the real Bond girl - the one that keeps it all going, and I don’t want her to leave. She keeps threatening to leave but I will not let her!”
