Dakota Fanning Joining The Twilight Sequel?

The adorable Dakota Fanning, who is growing up before our eyes, is reportedly joining the cast of the upcoming Twilight sequel.  Though she isnt saying much about it, she did confirm that she is in talks to play Jane.

Fanning, 14, has been offered the role of the young killer bloodsucker in the movie adaptation of New Moon, the second book in Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling teenage vampire series.

Dakota tells Hitfix.com:

“It’s definitely possible. I really hope it works out.  It would be a really fantastic experience I’m sure.”

Director of the film Chris Weitz is so confident that the cutie is right for the part, he offered it to without an audition.

The filming of the much-anticipated movie begins in March in the U.S. and Italy and if she does sign on, she will join returning stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, among others.   New Moon is set to open in November.
