Crosby Nets Gold in OT
February 28, 2010
It was an amazing hockey game as the two best hockey teams in the world battled to a 2-2 tie in regulation.
Canada went ahead 1-0 in the first and then extended their lead in period two, making it 2-0. Team U.S.A. got on the board prior to the second intermission.
The third was a back and forth contest and then with 24.2 seconds left the Americans tied it on a goal by Zach Parise.
Crosby got one point in the whole tournament. It was the gold winning goal at 7:40 of OT.
The MVP of the tournament was American goalie Ryan Miller. After the game, he received a huge cheer from the primarily Canadian crowd. Goal tending is about perfection and during the tournament he was about as perfect as a goalie gets.
Canadian pride is intact. And the U.S.A. has proven that they are a force with which to contend. It isn’t “wait until next year,” but, rather, “wait until the next Olympics.”
Ohhhhh, Canada!
